The crew at Shady Cove has put trails in for the hiking pleasure of our guests. A hike around the property has much to reveal. 

What you might expect:

A 10 minute hike to "The Crick", a beautiful, crystal clear freshwater creek which flows from the east end of the property into The Cove on Leesville Lake (another 10-15 minute walk).

Expect to see a wide variety of flora and fauna! There are beautiful groves of poplar and white oak trees, among others. Varieties of mushrooms can be spotted after a good rain. Monarchs migrate through the property. They and other types of butterflies are attracted to the wild flowers which grow throughout the property.  A wide range of animals have been spotted at Shady Cove. The list includes but is not limited to: black bears, deer, turkey, coyotes, owls, woodpeckers, bluebirds, woodchucks, raccoons, hawks eagles, minks, guinea fowl and bunnies.
